CONDENSED HISTORY OF THE REGION   

     Languedoc is born with the fusion of the Ligures and the Elysean peoples, it could be named the Blest's earth ; the Greek colonists founded Agde (Agathé Tuché or Good Luck). The Celts settled there in their turn and allied with Carthaginian of Annibal. The Domatia road built by the Romans allowed to connect the region from Italy to Spain.
     Named Septimania, the region knew a Muslim period before to be linked up to the Carolingian domain (under Charlemagne reign). The crusade against the Cathars was a bloody period of its history. Many years later, during the religions wars, the Protestants fighted victoriously in Bas-Languedoc.
     Between France kingdom and Aragon, Roussillon was under influence of the Phenicians who founded Port-Vendres. The Celts settled there, before an Arabian occupation. Then, the province became Spanish, administrated by kings of Aragon. Conquered by Louis XIII (Perpignan), it was linked up to France in 1659.
     Cévennes are constituted with the Marquis domain of Anduze which was firstly independant and linked up the the crown of France.
     Gévaudan is the earth of Gabales (highly Hellenised Celts). Subdued by César, the region was incorporated to Aquitaine. Its history was stand out with the "Camisards" war from 1702 to 1704 and the foundation of the Desert Church.
